About the Founder
Elizabeth Myrick
is an independent consultant with over fifteen years' experience in the nonprofit and philanthropic sector. Her work focuses on leadership and organizational strategy.

In 2008, she established Elizabeth Myrick Consulting, LLC, with a mission
to advance the impact of organizations and their leaders. To all projects, Elizabeth brings her values: public service, integrity, and life-long learning.

From 2000 until 2008, Elizabeth held senior positions with The Aspen Institute. As assistant director of Aspen's Nonprofit Sector and Philanthropy Program, Elizabeth created education and leadership initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of nonprofits and philanthropy. Through an innovative partnership with the Neighborhood Funders Group [NFG], she designed and managed a new program, SmartLink.org. SmartLink helped donors and smaller foundations access the ideas, insight and inspiration to give in low-income communities.

Prior to joining the Aspen Institute, Elizabeth was Director of Programs for the Maine Community Foundation. As program director, Elizabeth worked closely with communities, nonprofits and donors to design grantmaking programs and initiatives.

Elizabeth graduated phi beta kappa, magna cum laude from Bates College, in Maine, with degrees in English and political science. Elizabeth earned a masters in political theory/jurisprudence from the University of Massachusetts, where she was a Teaching and Research Fellow.  A native of northern Maine, Elizabeth has maintained her passion for rural communities and the Red Sox. In her free time, she is a runner and all-around sports fan. Elizabeth, her husband, and two children live just outside Washington, DC.
